Welcome
The Woodrow Wilson Debate Council is one of the oldest and most respected student organizations at the Johns Hopkins University. Since its establishment in 1894, many of the university’s most distinguished graduates, including the nation’s 28th president, have been members of the Debate Council. The Debate Council was one of the first regular debating societies in the country, and over the years its innovative members have pioneered new techniques in debate and public speaking.
The Debate Council offers every member a chance to construct persuasive arguments, speak confidently before large audiences, and connect with brilliant, motivated students from across the country.
